Darlington May 20 – Alfred Smith, living five miles west of Darlington died at his home last Friday from dropsy, aged 50 years and the funeral was held at the home on Saturday at 10 a.m.,Rev. Stanforth officiating. The remains were taken to Liberty cemetery, 10 miles west for interment. He leaves a widow and two daughters to mourn. Mr. Smith had been ailing since the first of the year. He was a farmer and was living on a farm owned by EM Morris of Crawfordsville. He was a good, kind, honest gentleman and had many friends. - kbz
